How to Cut or Copy to Spike in Word
The Spike is a feature I don’t see used very often. When you normally copy and paste the copy goes into the clipboard, but you can only copy one section at a time. The spike allows you to copy several sections one at a time and stacks them together so when you past from the spike all the sections are pasted. This also removes the copied sections from the spike.

Import Currency Format
Often I get asked how to import the currency format from Excel to Word as a straight forward mail-merge import loses the formatting. The formatting is carried out within Word by formatting the field within the document.
The three currency fields in this example do not have the £ symbol and do not have two decimal places.
You can display the field codes by clicking the Preview Results command on the Mailing ribbon tab.
Now right click on the field code you wish to format
Select Toggle Field Codes
Place your insertion point at the end of the code but before the }
Type \# £##,00
